Organise Your Pantry For Spring
Spring is known as the season to tidy, declutter and organise your home. It symbolises a fresh start as we transition out of winter into the summer and christmas months. The second half of the year is usually one that is very busy for people so September is the time to reflect and organise your home so you can live easier for the remainder of the year.
The best place to start decluttering and organising is your pantry. You use your pantry everyday so it is easy for it to become unorganised and messy, particulary when packets of food start to pile up so much that you can't see the bottom of the pantry.
Here's our top tips for organising your pantry effectively:
- Start by removing all food, packets and containers from your pantry. It's easiest to work with a fresh start and you can see how to begin.
- Give your pantry a really good clean. Wipe shelves and doors with a warm, damp cloth to remove residual food crumbs and/or stains.
- Make a plan! Work out where you want to put each type of product. It's best to think about the products you use the most in your everyday life. Do you need easy access to herbs? Do you use cans of food the most? Are your baking ingredients in an easy location? Thinking about questions like theses will help you determine what is most important to you and how accessible you want your pantry to be. It's a good idea to grab a piece of paper and plan out where everything is going to sit before you start filling containers and placing items in.
- Take stock of all your food. Is there a lot of plastic packets you want to minimise into containers? Is there old food that could be thrown away? Is there food you don't eat anymore but has been sitting there for weeks?
- Next is the fun part - aesthetic! If you're wanting to upgrade your pantry storage solutions, we have all different types to suit every aesthetic. From super trendy glass containers with bamboo lids to plastic pantry containers, discover our range of pantry solutions.
